The 2019 CATs TrailFest includes the CATHalf Trail Half Marathon, Pounding Creek Marathon and a new 10K Trail run, all taking place at the Miller School of Albemarle starting at 8 am!

The Charlottesville Area Trailrunners (CATs) have renamed their October trail event at the Miller School of Albemarle the CATs TrailFest. The 2019 CATs TrailFest encompasses three great races:

  • The CATHalf Trail Half Marathon
  • The Pounding Creek Marathon
  • A new 10K Trail Run

All races will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2019 starting at 8am!

The Race Director for the CATs TrailFest is Emily Hatch of Charlottesville Multisports (CMS).

The courses will feature challenging climbs, miles of sweet single-track trails, and spectacular vistas of the Blue Ridge mountains, all run on the fantastic trails at the Miller School of Albemarle. The trails are maintained by students on the Miller School of Albemarle Endurance Team and we organize this race together with the MSA Endurance Team coach, Andy Guptill. A significant portion of the proceeds benefit the MSA Endurance Team.

Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each race and, of course, there will be a fun and festive party at the race finish! All finishers receive a high-quality tech shirt with the race logo:

  • Pounding Creek Marathon finishers receive a tech quarter-zip shirt.
  • CATHalf and 10K finishers receive a tech long-sleeve shirt

The CATHalf is a one-loop half-marathon with over 2500′ of elevation gain. The Pounding Creek Marathon adds a second loop of the half-marathon course.  The 10-K will race will provide a shorter, but no less breathtaking experience on the Miller School Trails.
